ATTENDANCE POLICY
If your child is absent from school, please provide a note to your child’s teacher stating the reason for the absence. This note must be sent in upon the return of the student. If a student has five or more consecutive absences due to illness or injury, they are required to provide a written statement from a health care provider. The written statement must include all days the student has been absent from school. Ten or more unexcused absences may result in grades being withheld. M-DCPS’ attendance requirements are outlined in School Board Policy 5200: Attendance and Section 1003.02(1)(b), Florida Statutes.
